Rule Change Introduced from Friday 26th February

Following a change made to the rules of hockey by the FIH earlier this month, England Hockey has announced that the change will be implemented in ALL 11-a-side hockey with effect from Friday 26th February. THIS MEANS THAT THE NEW RULE WILL BE USED IN ALL MATCHES THIS WEEKEND.

The rule relates to Free Hits within 5m of the circle edge and the adjustment is not a major variance to the current rule - just a clarification to avoid unfair and potentially dangerous play for all attacking Free Hits within the 23m area.
