It's Now A Waiting Game

Posted by Admin 02 on 10 April 2017

On a very hot Sunday afternoon, in front of a big crowd, Exe 1sts hosted Timperley in the second of the Investec Women's Hockey League relegation play off matches.

After a dominant start, Exe fell behind after 16 minutes but an Alice Bradley equaliser two minutes before the break saw the teams 1-1 at half time.  Sensibly the Match Officials allowed a longer half time to allow the players time to rehydrate before a second half where both teams had chances to win the match.  With neither side able to break the deadlock, the pressure is on Timperley to win by more than three goals in the final play off match when they host West Herts on Saturday 22nd April.  A West Herts win, a draw or less than 3 goal winning margin for Timperley will secure our Investec Women's Hockey League status for next season.

A big thank you to everyone for your support this season.
