Exe Needs More Umpires

As a club we need more members to take up umpiring. We already have 4 player/umpires i.e. Clare Whitworth, Karen Tinley, Bridget Culver and Fi Hailstone who help out with umpiring around their playing commitments but need more to assist our other overstretched volunteer umpires and make the work of our Umpiring Coordinator a little easier.
Without umpires games, including junior fixtures, cannot be played.
There is an Umpiring Course at Exeter University on Sunday 20th March 09.00 - 16.40hrs. At the end of the course you will be able to umpire junior fixtures, friendlies and Summer League to build up your confidence to be able to umpire Petroc Division 2 fixtures next season....or you could ask to be assessed to enable you to umpire Petroc Division 1 and above fixtures.
The cost is £50 and the Club will reimburse any candidate who is prepared to umpire at least 3 times a season for the Club. You can only book through the England Hockey website and payment must be made at the time of booking. Use this link to book (it's page 2 of the 'Find a Course' page).
Prior to attendance on the course you do a simple online rules test - this test is free so why not surprise yourself and find out how much you already know (just follow the information on the above link).
