We need more umpires

We have an urgent need for more members to take an interest in umpiring - even if only to help out umpiring our junior fixtures. Attend a forthcoming course in either Plymouth or Exeter and you will become an unassessed L1 umpire. You will then be able to umpire junior or friendly fixtures.....and, when you are confident, 5th XI league fixtures. You will receive mentoring as required. When you feel ready to be assessed an Assessor from Devon Umpires will watch you umpire alongside an experienced umpire and sign you off as a Level 1 umpire.
Day courses are coming up in Plymouth (Sunday 28 October 9am - 4.40pm) and in Exeter on Sunday 11 November (also 9am - 4.40pm). If you are interested please contact Emma Hulme or just go to the England Hockey website and book a place. The club will reimburse the £50 course fee for anyone committing to umpire for the club.
