Exe 2’s approached this local derby match with a focused determination. From the start a fast paced, passing, Exe team linked together well, communicating clearly. Within the first twenty minutes Exe had scored two goals. Emma White passing the ball over the line from a scrap in front of the goal. The second goal was similar. Fi with her excellent fitness and strength won the ball just in front of the goal line, selfishly letting Robyn finish to take this strong Exe team 2-0 up.
The opposition struggled to respond to a well drilled short corner Caitlin reverse flicked the ball into the net. 3-0.
Isca determined to score had a fast. Break and got one in the back on the net. Exe continued to press well and Isca couldn’t get though a strong press. Claire Whitworth received the ball in the D - she undercut the ball into the net to take the team to 4-1.
Hard work from the midfield Emma Ross, Sope, Fi and Emma White dominated the midfield distributing well and working so hard to win the ball. The rotating forward line of Kat, Alice, Robyn and Whitty continued to exhaust the strong Isca defence. Sope linked up with Robyn for a one on one with the keeper 5-1.
The Exe defence really kept their composure and started to play high. A really great all round performance for a strong Exe 2’s team.
