| Match Report | This Saturday saw our ladies 1s take on top of the league Stourport. Injury in the team led to a change in players in defence, and Exe adapted well and showed great resilience. Stourport were clinical and well-drilled, and the Exe defence was put under a huge amount of pressure. The girls pulled together to deny many attempts from Stourport, but some well-executed penalty corners, a penalty flick, and some excellent field goals saw Stourport take a significant lead. Exe displayed a great strength of Character to come back and score a fantastic goal from Susie Townsend from a penalty corner, and kept fighting all the way to the final whistle. Man of the Match went to Kelly Luscombe for her excellent defensive work stepping into the role of centre back. The team are looking forward to next weekend, and are ready to come back stronger than ever. |
