In spite of the result Exe 3s are improving as a team and should take a lot of positives from today’s game. Exeter Uni came out strong, as expected, and unfortunately scored a scrappy goal, against the flow of play, within the first 10mins. Exe 3s heads did not go down though and with some fine defending kept the score to 1-0 at half time. The hockey played by both teams in the second half showed the strength of the league. Exeter Uni are very disciplined and drilled, resulting in some well worked goals. We did break through a number of times but were unable to score. The final score was 5-0 but not a reflection of Exe 3s efforts. Man of match went to the superb Emma Renshaw.
