Exe knew it was going to be a tough game away to top of league. The game started with Bournemouth attacking hard. After Exe had settled into the game there was some end to end hockey being played. 15 minutes in Bournemouth had a goal disallowed due to it being lifted into the D. Exe re grouped and saw some good play from Bryony Vandenberg up front to keep Exe in the game. Some good strong play from Bournemouth saw them go 1-0 up. Some more strong play from Caitlin Searle and Hope Kent in goal kept the score 1-0. There were 2 minutes to go before half time and Bournemouth broke though to make it 2-0. The whistle went and some strong play from Josie Hallett saw Exe win a short corner on the half time whistle. Unfortunately Exe were unable to convert.
After half time Exe were full of determination and confidence that the game was up for grabs. Some wonderful play from Hope Evans kept Exe in the game. Bournemouth were relentless with their attack and two further short corners resulted in 2 more goals for the home team. Emma White was instrumental on wining the ball back and in the last 30 seconds Fi Moran was able to convert to finish the game on 4-1. Man of the Match and Silly person of the day both went to Hope Evans who's birthday weekend it is!
