Ladies 3rd XI Vs Plymouth Marjon 2nds (First League Match)

Exe 3's started the new season in the South League having previously won promotion. WIth only 11.5 players, and some new players to the squad, we started nervously. However, Anya worried the Marjons defence from early on, making some sterling runs and the midfield attacking line of Rachel, Evie, Jess, Emma C, Josie and Megan created some good interlinking passages of play. Still, Marjons, finishing second in the league last year, consistently applied the pressure. Exe were unlucky to concede one goal in the first half. 

After a dramatic goal line save from captain Becky, Exe conceded again due to a flick. The defensive line of Emma H, Sian, Becky, Cissie and keeper Tori had their work cut out, but the next marjons goal came as an result of a tricky deflection. The final goal came in the wake of losing an Exe defender due to injury. The 4-0 score does not reflect Exe's commitment and tenacity - We look forward to what this season brings.
