Ladies 4th XI Vs Exe 3rds

Early on the 1st of October Exe 4s were keen to take on Exe 3s.  The game started well for both sides with constant end to end action.  However it was Roxy for the 3s that sloted away a super goal early in the first half.  Exe 4s refused to be shaken by this and we continued to attack and defend.  We continued to apply pressure and were awarded the first of several short corners.  The first half finished 1-0 to 3s.  

We knew Exe 3s would come out fighting the 2nd half but we were more than ready and willing to give them a run for the points and goals in this game.  Exe 4s played with relentless determination in the 2nd half of this match.  We looked like we might score at any point as the whole game was end to end for both sides.  Exe 4s kept the pressure on and didn't allow Exe 3s to have any time on the ball.  We also used our "press" excellently and forced 3s to make errors.  Thanks Dave for the training,  it is really paying off.

The game ended with a 2nd goal to Exe 3s. (I think they got lucky with this one!)  but the aim of the game is to score and that is what Exe 3s did.  Credit to Exe 3s and we look forward to taking them on again 2nd half of the season and I expect we may have a different result!  Thanks to the 3s feedback saying this game could have gone either way.  Player of the match goes to Emma Renshaw, Welcome to Exe Emma !
