Our first league game in Petroc 1 . Sun was shining and we started well. Exe was the first to enter the attacking D and looked like they might get and early goal. However Newton Abbot defence stood strong and defended well. The whole game was end to end the first half, with both teams being awarded several short corners. The first half ended nil-nil. Both teams started the 2nd half with equal determination. It was Newton Abbot who managed to get a goal by a lovely placed cross and their player slotted it passed the goalie. Exe continued to play well with intent on coming back into the game. However this was not to be. Leonie Hilton got player of the match for her endless battling in mid-field. welcome to the team Leonie. Bring on next weeks game (V Exe 3s)!!!
